What pool chemicals to use and what will be best for keeping pool water clean?

Maintaining clean pool water requires the regular use of various chemicals. It is important to use professional pool chemistry to disinfect the pool. To maintain optimal water parameters, it’s a good idea to stock up on some basic pool chemicals for disinfecting pool water. Here are the basic types of pool chemicals that are necessary to maintain proper water quality:

Chlorine Shock / Shock Chlorin for swimming pool

Used for the rapid production of active chlorine to destroy biological flora, minerals and the breakdown of chloramines in the water.

Dosage:

  • Shock dosage: 150-200g per 10m³ of water.
  • Daily dosage: 15-20g per 10m³ of water to maintain active chlorine levels at 0.2-0.5mg/l.

Method of Use: Dissolve in warm water and slowly add to the pool water while the pump is running with the filter head set to /FILTRATION/.

Long-acting chlorine for maintaining pool cleanliness and maintaining proper parameters of clean pool water

Allows slow release of chlorine to maintain chlorine concentration in water

Dosage:

  • 1 tablet (200g) per 40-50m³ of water every 8-14 daysà

Method of Use: Place the tablet in the tank basket while the pump is running.

Increasing pH / pH+

Powder that raises the pH level of water with too low pH value.

Dosage:

  • 100g per 10m³ of water to raise pH by 0.2.

Use: Dissolve in warm water and add slowly to the water through the skimmer while the pump is running with the filter head set to /FILTRATION/.

pH reduction / pH-

Powder that reduces the pH level of water with too high pH value.

Dosage:

  • 100g per 10m³ of water to reduce pH by 0.2.

Use: Dissolve in warm water and add slowly to water through skimmer while pump is running with filter head set to /FILTRATION/.

Algaecide ( algae remedy)

A liquid that protects water from algae growth and eliminates existing algae.

Dosage:

  • Shock dose: 100-200ml per 10m³ of water.
  • Weekly dosage: 10-20ml per 10m³ of water.

Use: Add slowly to water through skimmer while pump is running with filter valve set to /FILTRATION/.

Note: The dosages given are approximate. The dosage of pool formulations for disinfection of pool water, both in terms of quantity and frequency of application, should be determined experimentally, as each water source reacts differently to pool chemistry. WARNING!!! Concentrated water clarification chemicals are hazardous to humans, animals and the environment. They should be stored in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place in an airtight container.

Pool chemistry: how to keep pool water clean?

Keeping your pool water clean is crucial to the health and comfort of users. Here are some basic steps to help you keep your pool water clean:

Testing the pool water:

  • Adjust pH(correct pH should be between 7.2 and 7.6ppm) and chlorine levels (ideally between 1 and 3ppm ).
  • Pool chemicals:

Chlorine for swimming pool: Most commonly used to disinfect water. You can use chlorine in tablets, granules or liquid.

pH regulators: Help keep chlorine levels stable, especially in outdoor pools.

Pool anti-algaecide: Use algaecides to prevent algae growth.

Coagulants/flocculants: Help remove small contaminants, metals from water that are too small for the filter to capture.

  • Water filtration and circulation:

Ensure adequate water circulation so that chemistry is evenly distributed. Keep the pool pump running at least 8-12 hours a day.

Regularly clean pool filters to ensure proper disinfection of pool water (sand, glass bed).
  • Vacuuming and cleaning:

Regularly vacuum the bottom of the pool and remove debris from the water surface.Use nets to fish out leaves and other larger debris.

  • Regular maintenance:

Check the condition of all pool equipment, such as pumps, filters and heaters. Pay special attention to pool water treatment equipment i.e. automatic pool chemical dispenser, for example.

What parameters should pool water have? What pool chemistry for your pool?

To keep your pool water clean and safe, it is essential to monitor and regulate several parameters in order to limit the growth of algae. Ideally clean pool water, should have the following parameters:

pH: 7.2 – 7.6

Chlorine: Free chlorine: 1 – 3 ppm (ppm parts per million = mg)

Bound chlorine: maximum 0.5 ppm

Alkalinity (optimum alkalinity improves theeffectiveness of chlorine and other disinfectants): 80 – 120 ppm

Calcium hardness: 200 – 400 ppm

Acidity (Cyanuric Acid): 30 – 50 ppm (usedonly in outdoor pools to stabilise chlorine)

Keeping the water clean, clear and safe in the pool requires systematic monitoring and adjustment of key chemical parameters chemical parameters. The most important of these are pH, chlorine, alkalinity and water hardness. Regular testing, water clarification and the use of appropriate pool chemicals is key to maintaining clean, safe pool water, safe pool water.
