How to Illuminate a swimming pool

Enhancing your swimming pool with proper lighting can greatly improve both its aesthetic appeal and usability, particularly for evening swims. The most effective way to illuminate your pool is by using underwater LED lights.

Underwater LED lights: These lights are installed directly into the pool walls, providing bright and even illumination. They are energy-efficient and come in various colors, allowing you to create diverse lighting effects. Our selection includes two main types of LED pool lights:

  • Colored LED lights (RGBW):These lights allow you to control your pool’s lighting via remote control, offering a range of colors.
  • White LED bulbs:These are operated using a traditional switch.

How do you install led pool lights, or how do underwater lights work?

Swimming pool lights are fitted at the pool processing stage. In the final stage of production, pools go through what is known as processing, where they are polished and inspected. This is when equipment such as skimmers, jets and pool lights are fitted. Our staff cut precise holes in the pool and then fit the lamp housings there, protected by gaskets that prevent leakage. The lamps have a waterproof casing with the appropriate ingress protection class (IP68), which protects against water ingress and mechanical damage. They are usually powered by low voltage (12V or 24V) for increased safety in a water environment. Installed in this way, the lamp has an outgoing cable protected by a pessel, which is connected on-site to a transformer and then to the main power supply. The entire connection process is carried out by a professional electrician, so we can be sure that the installation is carried out in accordance with current safety standards and ensures long-lasting, trouble-free operation of the pool lighting system and electrical installation.

Can I control the pool lighting via remote control?

Colour LED pool lighting allows you to control the pool lighting via remote control. With a rich colour palette, including the classic white LED colour and intensity control, the underwater lighting gives your pool a unique atmosphere, especially at night, which is ideal for swimming after dark.

Types of pool lighting: coloured led pool lights or brighter lighting - led white?

There are two main types of led pool lights in our range:

  • Coloured led lighting: controlled by remote control – different colours of light are available, so our swimming pool basin will be functional and safe when swimming after dark. The coloured LED lights in the energy-saving lamps illuminate the pool and give a special atmosphere not only to the pool area, but also to the entire surrounding area.
  • White led bulb: controlled by a classic switch, usually mounted near the terrace, the illumination of the pool is provided with classic warm light. We dedicate this option to those who appreciate the classics.

Where is the best place to install pool lighting?

During sales consultations, one of the most frequently asked questions is about the best location for pool lighting. The correct placement of pool lighting is crucial for enhancing the overall aesthetics of the pool area and the entire garden.

We recommend positioning the LED pool lights on the side of the building adjacent to the pool area. This placement ensures that the lighting around the pool is even and effective, creating a pleasant atmosphere and enhancing safety after dark. This strategic positioning not only improves visibility but also highlights the beauty of the pool and its surroundings.

What to do if a bulb burns out

If an LED pool light bulb burns out, there’s no need to worry about digging up the pool to replace the entire light fixture. Our energy-efficient pool lights are designed for easy maintenance and replacement. The lamp housing includes a cable reserve, which allows you to replace the bulb conveniently from the pool level. This design ensures long-lasting satisfaction and ease of use.

Appropriate swimming pool lighting and surrounding lighting are essential for safe swimming after dark and creating a welcoming atmosphere. It’s important to invest in the right lighting for your garden pool, as well-designed and installed underwater lights can greatly enhance the aesthetics of your outdoor space. Evening swimming becomes more relaxing and enjoyable with quality lighting, which also adds value and functionality to your entire garden.
